An eSIM is a digital SIM built into your phone.

Instead of inserting or swapping a physical SIM card, you install your TRUE eSIM digitally and use it to connect to mobile data while travelling.

Your device must:

Your eSIM will be delivered with everything you need to get connected, including your QR code and activation details. We recommend installing it before you travel while connected to WiFi.

1. Go to Settings → Cellular / Mobile Data
2. Tap Add eSIM
3. Select Use QR Code
4. Scan the QR code provided in our document
5. Follow the instructions in the document to complete the installation
6. Label your new eSIM “TRUE” or “Travel” so it's easy to identify

For Android
Menu names may vary slightly depending on your device.

1. Go to Settings → Connections / Network & Internet
2. Open SIM Manager or your device's SIM settings
3. Tap Add eSIM
4. Select Scan QR Code
5. Scan the QR code provided in our document
6. Follow the instructions in the document to complete the installation

We recommend installing your eSIM before you travel, while you have a reliable Wi-Fi connection.

This means everything is ready before your trip and you won't have to rely on airport or hotel Wi-Fi to complete the installation.

Installation and activation are different.

Installing adds the eSIM to your phone.

Activation is when your eSIM begins connecting to the supported network according to your plan's activation policy.

Your plan will activate only when connected overseas. To activate it turn on Data Roaming when you arrive at your destination.

Once you reach your destination:

1. Turn on your TRUE eSIM
2. Select TRUE eSIM for mobile data
3. Enable Data Roaming for your TRUE eSIM
4. Make sure your primary SIM isn't being used for mobile data

Your phone should then connect to a supported local network.

Yes, if your phone supports Dual SIM.

You can use your TRUE eSIM for mobile data while keeping your usual SIM available for calls or SMS.

Just remember that your home mobile provider may charge roaming fees for calls, SMS or other services used overseas, so check their charges before travelling.

Using TRUE eSIM for mobile data does not automatically change the phone number registered to your WhatsApp account.
